R.I.P Derek Boogaard.
i woke up this morning feeling all cuddly, I wish my girlfriend was here so we could spend the day cuddling infront of a bad romantic comedy or something. Just relaxing and taking care of each other with kisses, cuddling and good food..I guess the sun makes me shine a day like this..
I guess this is a good weekend to be swedish. Eric Saade mysteriously made it to the Eurovision songcontest final, and Team Swedens Icehockey Team will face Finland in the Worldchampionshipsfinal this sunday after beating the Czech republic in a great game. Finland made it to the Finals by beating Russia and I guess that proves that they are a worthy opponent. The fist goal of the game was really spectacular, a real classic. Sweden vs Finland are usually great games in hockey. I look forward to the Sunday Final.
The Death of Bin Laden continues to be a neverending story in the media, now they say that they found a bunch of porn in his house, In the computer I guess and why that would be intressting to the world, I really dont know but its getting tiresome to read about this. Im thinking that the media will inspire new terrorism with all this coverage, but I guess that is how they make money. I saw on CNN that USA is being sued over the decision not to show the pictures of the dead Bin Laden. I cant for my life understand why he should be paraded as a throphy and I can understand why people dont understand that it would be politcaly sensative to show picture like that since I believe that would make the muslimfundamentalist community angry. Im not sure though..I guess these things bring out the worst in people, this whole thing has crossed the line between news and perverted gloating.
I read that Bob Dylan has been critiziezed for not playing his songs ”Blowing in the wind” and ”The times are a changing” while he was on tour In China, and he says they were not victims of censurship and played the songs they set out to play, and I believe that he did. Songs like the mentioned might have stirred things back in the 60ies, but these days music rarely have that effect, and I think that not even the chinese government are afraid of Dylans songs. They are good songs, but they will not change the world or start uprisings. I read Bob Dylans memoirs, and he mentions that he never wanted to be a politcial person, and he never wanted to change the world, he only wanted to write and sing songs. People made him into a kind of icon he never wanted to be, and eventhough that might be true he truely was a voice of a generation back then. I myself like his newer kind of music better though,, his records like ”Time out of mind” are probably among the best ever made.
A little sad side note is that the NHLplayer Derek Boogaard from New York Rangers was found dead yesterday. I dont know what happend but he was only 28 years old…Very sad.
