Midnight in Paris

I saw this very nice little film by the legendary Woody Allen that Regadless of the title this is not a sequal to the infamous homemovie ”A night in Paris”starring. Its starring Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams about an screenplaywriter from Hollywood who wants to become a real author and write novels about a man in a memorbilia shop. He has a hectic girlfriend played by Rachel McAdams and you can tell that he is anything but satisfied and fullfilled in life, he wishes hw could move to Paris to live there for good and just wander around in the beautiful town of his dreams in the rain. He wished that he could go back in time to see Paris in the 1920ies when all the legendary artists and writers where there making their dailybreed, drinking the nights away in that decadent little town. One night he wanders off without his girlfriend and enda up in an old taxi with some happy go lucky persons and ends up at a party where Cole Porter plays the piano and he realizes that he has taken a timetravel back in time to the 1920ies. Here the adventure starts.

I must say this movie was an unusual pleasant film by Woody Allen, who i ususlly tend to find a tad boring. This is a refreashing and fun film to watch, a bit odd maybe but very nice in my humble opinion.

I will give this film 4 points out of 5 posssible..

Some new autographs in my collection.

I got two new autographs that i got from a friend. It was actor Adam Goldberg and one of my favourite directors Frank Darabont, who made two of my favourite movies- The green mile and Shawshank Redemption, both based on Stephen Kings novels. I am very happy for these additions, at least Darabont has eluded me for a while and i have wanted to add him to my collection for a long time.

The Smurfs 2011

The 201i animation Smurfs, might be the biggest moviedisappointment of last year for me. I was expecting a fun movie with lots of laughter and smiles. I have always liked the smurfs and i find the old comics to be very entertaining, but this new one? Not so much. To me it was lame. But if i had been a kid i might have loved it and I guess they made this film more for the kids than old men like me? Well. I dunno, If you are a grown up? I suggest you find another film.

But this film is really well made and the animations are top notch wich is to be expected from big time production companies like Colombia and Sony among other.

I rate this as : 1/ 5

Gamla Pengar – Blue Elephant

Gamla Pengar is a swedish punkgroup. A very aggressive and angry one at that. Their music is straight in your face without pardon or mercy and its not bad at all. I must admitt they will never win lyrics of the year awards nor best album but I like this anyway and I find myself swaying my head while listening to parts of the CD, thats a good sign because i am very picky with my music. Sadly this cd do not take my thrill all the way, it ends at being mediocre and thats a bit disappointing to me, maybe a more hardcore punkfan would love this way more than i could ever do. But its all in all a okay cd and i think you will like it, if you like swedish punkmusic.

The swedish punkscene has opened itself to me after starting this blog and I am happy, much of the swedish punkmusic reminds me of when i was young and radical.

I will rate this CD as a :2/5

Some Info for ya all.

Nittonhundratalsräven – Demos från ett Källarhål

Since i started this blog about music and movies i have had my eyes opened to music i would never have heard of before and i am very happy for that, because Sweden really have more music and artists that i could even imagine. Nittonhundratalsräven is one of those groups that I never would have noticed if I didnt have contact with their label and I would have missed out i think. Nittonhundratalsräven is a swedish group in the indiependent genre and I find there music to be well played and well sung, I like the lyrics because it reminds me of music like swedish groups like Eldkvarn and lyricswise Im reminded of Joakim Thåström, all this without sounding like ripoff artists, so I am very impressed by this swedish band that i wish i could hear more from. I think this group i worthy of some airplay in radio and I wish to see people open their eyes to Nittonhundratalsräven.

Who know how far a small  label like Beatbutchers can go with producing artists like this? Me like.

I give this CD : 3 / 5 .
